The Covered Bridge Credit Union, like all Credit Unions, is
a non-profit cooperative, owned by members who are united in a
common purpose – saving money together, making loans to one
another at low interest rates, and providing various services and
benefits to all our members.
The Covered Bridge Credit Union is a voluntary organization charted
under Vermont law and affiliated with the Associaion of Vermont Credit Unions and the Credit
Union National Association (CUNA).
Who runs the Credit Union?
The affairs of the Credit Union are managed by the Board of Directors.
We have various committees, all of whom have been elected from
our membership. Daily activities are handled by office staff. Any
non-routine questions should be directed to the CEO (Linda
Kidder). All transactions are handled with the strictest
confidence.
History...
Covered Bridge Credit Union was founded by Stanley Offensend during
the summer of 1961. In January, 1991, Covered Bridge Credit
Union and AMCO Credit Union merged, retaining the name "Covered
Bridge", and moving it's office to 12 Depot Avenue. On April 7, 2009 we purchased the Merchants Bank building at 160 Main Street.
